incline with several cars with flat tires. if you are just waking up, all morning long, since 4:00 this morning we have had a big rig with an early fire now out and the big rig is still there and a mechanic is working on it eastbound, a sig-alert, and it is the reverse commute direction and you will find slow traffic westbound from address toward livermore on the altamont pass. >> the future of california's largest college hangs in the balance this morning. today, city college of san francisco turns accreditation report, the school needs a passing grade to stay open. katie marzullo joins us live from the newsroom with a college divided. >> everyone wants city college to stay open. 90,000 students are counting on it and faculty and staff want to keep their jobs. the groups cannot agree on how to keep the doors open. that is the administration versus the students and the staff on the the deadline they

protested and chanted and shouted. the commission for community and junior colleges put city college on notice back in judgment saying they had too many problems with leadership and fiscal plans. the college has been making changes ever since and a spokesman says they have stream laned the administration and added more financial accountability. >> the accreditation reform process is unwinding many, many years of behavior that just absolutely needed to be changed or could not be afforded. >> the situation and all about equity. >> students and staff say this were alternates to the cutbacks including $16 million city college get from san francisco's proposition (a). they wanted the money to alleviate the cuts but the school put it in a reserve fund. the commission will make the decision on city college in june

. >> the archdiocese of san francisco will hold a prayer service for a daly city mother and her two sons killed in an horrific crash. the prosecution says the suspect had blood alcohol level twice the legal limit when he hit and killed them on saturday night. this is video from court on tuesday. the 28-year-old sobbed during an appearance yesterday in san mateo county superior court but he did not enter a plea. the judge ordered him to return to court next tuesday. a memorial fund has been set up to help the family cover funeral costs. >> tomorrow marks one year since morgan hill teenager went missing at 15 at the time of the disappearance the she was talking and walking to a bus stop when they she disappeared. a suspect has been charged but the body has never been charged. two events have been set up including one at 9:00 a.m. and a

from our roof camera, as we look back to treasure island, all the way back toward the east bay hills, you can see it is clear this morning. san francisco is at 48. walnut creek and oakland is warmer at 49, and 47 in san jose, and palo alto at 43 and mill valley is 42 degrees. the port of oakland, from mount tamalpais this morning, you can see santa rosa is 43 and napa at 44, and along with los gatos and 48 in fairfield and hayward and livermore right now is at 46. here is how it looks in tahoe, no snow there. they set record highs wednesday and thursday. in tahoe it was 69 and then 68 and today will fall short. we will have extra sunshine so it will be eight degrees warmer in san francisco and two in oakland, and fremont the be at 68 which is four degrees cooler than yesterday.

>> abc7 news starts right no with breaking news. >> good morning, 6:29. we have breaking news from san francisco. a man crash add stolen taxicab into a police patrol car. abc7 news reporter, cornell bernard, joins us.

shots were fired? >> we can say the situation is still unfolding in presidio heights at jackson and spruce, the intersection is closed where a patrol car was rammed by a suspect driving a stolen taxicab police responded after getting reports a man was vandalizing a taxi not far from here standing on the roof of the cab. when the cab driver con con fronted the man the suspect stole the taxi. the cab was located here and the suspect rammed the patrol car. police fired shots at the suspect. we do have some new video in the abc7 news newsroom we want to show you. there was a short chase but police later found the taxi and found the suspect. the suspect was arrested near for the mason at the intersection here at bay streets
